Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UWM is a membership organization for adults 50 and over who understand that quality of life is enhanced through lifelong learning.

As an Osher member you can take short courses, go on local tours, attend special events, join an informal interest group, and network at social events. These rich and varied learning experiences are tailored to meet the changing interests of members, whether in literature, art, history, language, politics or science.

Anyone 50 years old and over who has a passion for learning can join. Osher is for people of all educational backgrounds. You do not need to be a UWM graduate or otherwise associated with the University. There are numerous benefits to becoming a member from meeting other like-minded people to learning a new subject.

Joining Osher is the perfect way to expand your knowledge while meeting over 900 other like-minded, active, older adults.

Annual membership is $45 per person. For couples or individuals living at the same address and requesting only one copy of mailed information, membership is $80. (A couple constitutes as two people living in the same household, whether married, siblings or partners.) There are additional nominal fees for our programs.

Membership lasts September 1 to August 31 of the following year, though you can join anytime during the year. As a new member, your membership fee is prorated based on the month that you join and is in effect until the following August 31. Your membership then joins the continuing member fee schedule.

It's easy to join or renew. Simply follow the applicable link below for online registration or complete the membership form and mail it along with the fee.

"I find membership to be fulfilling. I enjoy the friendships I've made. The courses are intellectually stimulating."
