Auto Advertising Standards Program

The Auto Advertising Standards Program (AASP) was developed by the Center for Consumer Affairs, and is operated by the Center under a contract with the Automobile Dealers Association of Mega Milwaukee (ADAMM).

The program monitors all ADAMM member advertisements, reviewing both print and Internet advertisements in the greater Milwaukee area for compliance with the voluntary advertising standards developed by ADAMM. Radio and TV ads are reviewed upon complaint. The ADAMM Standards essentially reflect all applicable Wisconsin and federal laws and regulations governing automobile advertising and the advertising of automobile financing and leasing.

AASP staff is available for consultation with ADAMM dealer-members, their advertising agencies and print and broadcast media representatives regarding compliance with the ADAMM Auto Advertising Standards during ad development, prior to publication or broadcast.

The Auto Advertising Standards Program is endorsed and supported by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation; the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions; the Consumer Protection Division of the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection; the Wisconsin Department of Justice; and the Wisconsin Auto and Truck Dealers Association.
