Teachers Professional Development Training

MAGIC is a five-year U.S. Department of Education, Professional Development Grant-funded program designed to weave together educators, schools, communities and families to improve the learning outcomes of English Language Learners (ELLs).

Through the ICAT and PAR courses, MAGIC integrates classroom instruction and family engagement with an emphasis on content, learning and culture. This project was developed in response to requests from educators to further efforts to close the language and academic achievement gaps between ELLs and their peers.

Through the MAGIC Project you will:

  • Share, learn and reflect best instructional practices for ELLs
  • Apply research-based instructional practices for ELLs
  • Connect family and culture with classroom instructions
  • Use learned activities to help fulfill the actions, steps and timeline that will lead to the achievement of your PI34 PD Plan objectives. MAGIC Project activities may be included in your plan for assessment.
