Develop your case by setting your goals. What is your big picture and what steps will you have to implement to make it happen? Appoint your team, who can help you reach your goals? Look at your feasibility – what can really be accomplished? What´s realistic? What´s not?
Planning
Create a resource plan – research institutions and networks that can assist in your goals. Create a financial plan – what is the budget and how will you allocate it? What is the risk plan? What about procurement?
Execution
Go about your development just like you would for your project – study your timeline, your budget, your vendors and your allocation of funds throughout the year to touch base on your goals.
Closure
At the end of the year, review your goals and your accomplishments.
And just like any good project manager, repeat all the steps above to complete your 2013 goals.
