Military and Veteran Populations Series Available Online

This is an online series, which consists of 4 courses:

  • Course #1 - Introduction to the Military and Training
  • Course #2 - Military Traumatic Stress
  • Course #3 - Biology of Trauma and Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Course #4 - Resilience, Readjustment, Transition and Treatment

Each course is self-contained and entails the following:

  • Lecture pieces
  • Resources
  • Ability to work at your own pace
  • The option to comment & post questions on a discussion board

Register for the series and get 10% off the May 21-22 Trauma Conference for Military & Veteran Populations: Building Bridges & Connecting Lives using code MILIT.

The courses are represented in a basic format and certainly do not cover the topics in great detail. Consider them as a rough introduction for VA clinicians, teachers, and private civilian entities who will be working with our returning veterans.

The U.S. has been involved in "conflicts" for more than 20 years. Such "conflicts" include:

  • Persian Gulf War or Gulf War
  • Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)
  • Other operations in support of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT)

Because of these "conflicts", there has been an increased awareness of military and their family members left behind in the communities of the United States.
