Asif Ashiqali is the Assistant Dean of the School of Continuing Education. He manages the finance and budget for the School. Additionally, he oversees the HR, IT, Facilities, and Business Management functions for the School.

Asif's expertise in higher education lies in budget development, human resource development, project management, and business management.

Prior to coming to UWM in 2011, Asif was the Associate Director of Operations at the Office of Admissions and Record, and Program Coordinator at the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Education with specialization in Global Human Resources and Development from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

Asif holds a Six Sigma Green Belt for Services, a certification to help organizations increase efficiency in office processes and services. 

Asif is also an adjunct faculty at Oakton Community College in the Computer Information Systems Division and teaches Microsoft Application Software.

He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies in Educational Organization and Leadership at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Asif represents various boards and committees. He is an Associate Board Member at Apna Ghar (“Our Home”), an organization that provides holistic services to women and children across immigrant communities in the Chicago area to end the cycle of domestic violence.

He holds a regional leadership role on the Disaster Management Team in Glenview, Illinois Community Center to assist communities and families to prepare for environmental disasters. He is currently volunteering with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); he is working to set up a FEMA Think Tank at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, an initiative to engage the whole community, connect resources, develop solutions and share best practices in the emergency management field.

He is also the Executive Board Member at YCAMP (Youth Career Advising and Mentoring Program), Chicago, Illinois. YCAMP is a nonprofit organization whose members work with low-performing schools with at-risk students by acting as mentors and career advisers. Asif helps connect professionals from various backgrounds with these schools in an effort to promote academic success and give shape to students’ career goals.
