| Andrea is a University Services Program Associate. She is a part of and a "First Contact" for the Department of Governmental Affairs, which is an umbrella unit for programs offered by Christine Dunning, Mordecai Lee and Shirley Bufford, at the School of Continuing Education (SCE). Andrea has also taken on responsibilities of the implementation of the G3 System and supporting IT programs in the Department of Business, Engineering and Technology at SCE. Within the Department of Governmental Affairs Andrea supports two programs - the Certificate in Public Administration and the Professional Certificate in Nonprofit Management, plus various outside contracts, domestically within Wisconsin and internationally within Nigeria, Africa. Andrea is responsible for managing certain aspects of over 50 trainings offered yearly with over 700 consistent participants and between 15-20 instructors for the Department of Governmental Affairs. To help sustain and grow SCE, she participates in focus groups and attends conferences as a liaison. Andrea earned her Master's degree in Information Systems in 2009 and a Bachelor's degree in Business Management in 2007. She is certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt for Office Operations, Crucial Conversations trainer, and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) in Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint. Other continuing education training and professional certifications include Professional Certificate in Training and Interaction Management. An on-going project that Andrea created, implemented, and is responsible for is an electronic interactive calendar for the Professional Certificate in Nonprofit Management, the Certificate in Public Administration, and Computer Applications programs. A current project Andrea has implemented and manages is an electronic evaluation system for the Department of Governmental Affairs, with a focus on implementing it in other departments within SCE. Currently, Andrea's committee work includes Classified Staff, Green Team, and the
Classified Mentoring Group. She has implemented and continues to lead the SCE annual picnics (since 2001). Andrea is acknowledged in various manuscripts, books, and articles for her proofreading skills. She recently served on the UWM Student Leadership council on UWM's main campus and on various project teams at SCE, such as Organizational Mapping, Workshop Hosting, Strategic Planning Working Group, and Project Management Software. Previously, she chaired committees, such as the Quality of Work Life Committee and the Classified Staff Committee at SCE. For the past 13 years, Andrea has received recognition at SCE with Length of Service Awards in 2001 & 2006, helped formulate SCE's and her department's mission and vision, and is a former member of the IAAP Milwaukee Chapter.
