ENGLISH-100: Introduction to College Writing and Reading (4 units; U )

Critical reading and writing, with emphasis on the processes of writing, revision, and academic conventions. Students produce a portfolio of revised essays.

Weekly Writing Center session req'd. May not be taken cr/no cr. Not open to students who have taken English 101. Prereq: level 1 on English Placement Test.

Add'l course fee of $6.30 will be assessed to cover photocopying and supplies. The required textbook for this course is A Student's Guide to the First-Year Writing Program at UWM by the First-Year Writing Program, English Department of UW-Milwaukee@2013-2015 (retail price: $2.49).
