IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

1. Some CURRINS courses are not open to University Special Students (including Summer Guest Students) or students who want to audit a course (written consent required to audit). Enrollment restrictions such as these (including any other course prerequisites) can be viewed in the notes area located directly above each course number's course section listings, with additional information sometimes provided as needed within an individual section number's section note text. If you receive a PAWS self-enrollment error message stating you do not meet course requisites or need instructor consent and you would still like to enroll, you must contact your advisor or the instructor for permission.

2. Students who do not meet course prerequisites may be administratively dropped.

3. Students who do not attend classes in which they are registered may be administratively dropped. Students who do not attend the first class meeting are subject to this policy.

4. Students enrolled in ("introduction to teaching" courses) CURRINS 300, CURRINS 328 or CURRINS 333: Field experience hours must be completed during the semester of enrollment. No extensions will be granted.

5. Early Childhood Education students enrolled in CURRINS 312: Field experience hours must be completed during the semester of enrollment. No extensions will be granted.

6. Classes are subject to cancellation for low enrollment. We regret having to do so, as we acknowledge the great inconvenience this causes students. Please be aware of this when planning your semester schedule and purchasing your books. We recommend that you understand the return policy of your book seller. The School of Education will make every possible effort to make course cancellation decisions prior to two weeks before the start of individual classes.

7. Official e-mail communication between the Dept. of Teaching and Learning and UWM students will be sent to assigned student UWM e-mail addresses. It is a student's responsibility to check her or his UWM e-mail account regularly for important university and/or course related information. If you do not check your UWM e-mail on a regular basis, then we suggest that you enter a UWM e-mail account forward mail command routing e-mail to your preferred non-UWM e-mail address.

8. Students who fail their criminal background check will be ineligible for a clinical experience placement which is a requirement for some courses. Clearance can take up to 6 weeks, so plan accordingly. Please note Registrar's Office add and drop dates for the semester as registration impacts tuition, financial aid, etc. matters. See your academic advisor if you have any concerns.

Please note: The School of Education charges an additional special course fee for Distance Education (online) sections, these sections can be distinguished by a section number beginning with 2 (e.g., 201, 202). If the special course fee is not listed in the online Schedule of Classes, please contact the department.
