International Economic Development & Water Policy

This course examines water security and its relation to food and energy production, colloquially called the water-food-energy nexus. It addresses competition over scarce resources; IPE and economic development specific to water, food, and energy; transboundary water quantity and water quality dynamics; transboundary water disputes, conflict, and cooperation; international security and global resource governance; measurement and evaluation of water efficiency at local, regional, national, and global levels; and technology transfer. The course will require the mastery of advanced material as well as the development of critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and advanced analytical skills.
