EXCEDUC-301: American Sign Language I (3 units; U )

This course will introduce basic American Sign Language structure and study of deaf culture. Basic fingerspelling principles are also introduced.

This course will continue skills in American Sign Language, fingerspelling and the study of deaf culture.

Prereq: C or better in ExcEduc 301(P) or Level 1 ASLPI score.

Introductory course for students who have not studied Italian previously. Oral practice, grammar, reading.

Notes:
Students are required to spend an additional hr each week in the language lab in oral drill & comprehension. Counts as repeat of Italian 113. Prereq: none.
