POLICIES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES

STUDENTS WHO DO NOT ATTEND CLASS (including discussions) or contact the instructor during the first week of classes may be administratively dropped from the course.

All course prerequisites are enforced in MTHSTAT 215. Students on waiting lists and students who attempt to add or change sections after Open Enrollment should be prepared to show proof of prerequisites in the first week of classes. Math advisors are available in the Department of Mathematical Sciences to help students with prerequisite verification problems. Students are encouraged to consult with them during the first week of classes.


QL Part A. Completion of QL Part A can be demonstrated by satisfying one of the following options:
1. earning at least three credits with a grade of C or higher in Math 102, 103 (formerly 106), 105, 108, 175 or equivalent courses,* or
2.achieving a placement code of at least 30 on the mathematics placement test



Please note: The College of Letters & Science charges an additional special course fee for Distance Education (online) sections. These sections can be distinguished by a section number beginning with 2-- (e.g., 201, 202). Elementary probability theory; descriptive statistics; sampling distributions; basic problems of statistical inference including estimation; tests of statistical hypothesis in both one- and two- sample cases.
