Key Functions
The Methods Core provides Center investigators access to senior researchers with expertise in varied methodologies for development and fidelity testing of self-management interventions. Resulting synergies provide a strong foundation for Center sustainability.

Dr. Christine Kovach oversees the team of consulting senior scientists; assists & monitors directors of active studies in their use of Core services; and, works with investigators to implement start-up projects.

Three major goals are to:

Support Center projects

Create Synergy Among Center investigators and other scientists—both within the SMSC & larger research communities

Enhance New proposal development with evolving methodological sophistication & expansion to team science



Method Core Services
These goals and include:
  1. Theory-based Intervention Development & Testing
  2. Measurement (biological, behavioral, economic)
  3. Data Management & Statistical Analysis
  4. Qualitative Inquiry
  5. Subject Recruitment and Retention
Leading the work of these five core areas is a 20-member team of SMSC investigators who play a key role in evolving the synergies, growth, and innovation of self-management science at UW-Milwaukee.

Each brings to their respective service area(s) expertise and field experience that deepens the impact & value of Center science. Team science and an outward focus fuel discovery, dissemination, & use of best practice.
