Veritas High School Students Volunteer at the South Shore Half Marathon - April 2013
Several students from Veritas High School assisted at the South Shore Half Marathon on April 7, 2013. The student volunteers performed various functions to help with the marathon which drew approximately 1,000 runners.

Wisconsin Schools of Recognition Teacher Fellow, Veritas High School - April 2013
Congratulations to Veritas English Teacher, Joe Neman, who has been chosen as a "Wisconsin Schools of Recognition Teacher Fellow." The 2013 fellowship is sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and Fund for Teachers. Mr. Neman has been awarded with a grant of $5,000 to travel to Latin America this summer to visit the areas that served as inspiration to the writers of "Magical Realism."

Activities at Bruce Guadalupe Community School - March 2013
The Latino Connection of the Journal Sentinel, highlights the music education program and volunteers who were honored at Bruce Guadalupe Community School (BGCS). The United Community Center, Inc. (UCC) is the charter holder for BGCS.

Police Chief Flynn Conducts Student Listening Session at Veritas High School - March 2013
On March 26th, Police Chief Edward spoke with students at Veritas High School. The students had the opportunity to ask and get answers to their questions and concerns. The Chief's visit was part an initiative to improve relations between the teens and officers.

Read Across America at Capitol West Academy - March 2013
On March 1st, Capitol West Academy took part in the National Education Association’s “Read Across America Day” program. Tony Clark from Fox 6’s Real Milwaukee Now participated in the event and broadcast live from the school.
