Hello!  My name is Celeste Meyers and it is a privilege to introduce myself as the new Director of the UW-Milwaukee Office of Charter Schools. As a UWM Alumni, it is exciting to be back on campus!

I've been fortunate to come to this position with a rich experience in charter school authorizing.  My role as Director will allow me the opportunity to use this experience and expertise to continue to improve the strong portfolio of charter schools UW-Milwaukee has established.

I have a passion for cultivating great teachers and schools, and seeing children succeed.  Every child deserves a high quality education. This new role proves to be an opportunity to continue my passion to improve education for children in Milwaukee!

I graduated from UW-Eau Claire with a degree in Elementary Education and started my career in Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) as a teacher 15 years ago.  After earning my Master's in Administrative Leadership here at UW-Milwaukee, I worked as program manager for MPS charter schools.  Most recently, I was a teacher coach for the Urban Education Fellows Program.

As Director, I am looking forward to exploring new ways the Office of Charter Schools can support its schools while working collaboratively with both the University and the community.
