About the Director
| DeAnn Huinker is director of the Center for Mathematics and Science Education Research. She is actively involved with the Milwaukee Public Schools as principal investigator with the Milwaukee Mathematics Partnership, a cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation. Dr. Huinker teaches courses in mathematics teaching methods and curriculum. She conducts research and writes about math and science education, preparation of math and science teachers, and math assessment. Dr. Huinker is the author of "Teaching Math, a Video Library, K-4: Guidebook." She is involved in mathematics instruction as past chair of the Editorial Panel of Teaching Children Mathematics, past president of the Milwaukee Area Mathematics Council and past journal editor of Wisconsin Teachers of Mathematics. Dr. Huinker earned an M.A. at the University of Northern Iowa and an Ed.D. at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. huinker@uwm.edu (414) 229-5467 |
