This article is the first article featured in a new section of NCTM's Teaching Children Mathematics called "Supporting Teacher Learning". The article is written to engage teachers to actively reflect on and improve questioning to promote teacher thinking, deeper discourse, and reflection. The article gives advice on debriefing a lesson, focusing conversations using the Instructional Triangle, and tips on structuring questions.
