Milwaukee Telecommunications Project
| Goal:This project aims to improve Milwaukee Public School (MPS) teachers' comfort and experience with the Internet so that they can alter their teaching in mathematics, science and social studies to include the Internet, thereby improving the depth of topics and instruction. |
Description: |
For the instructional component of this project, all supporting materials have been developed into on-line versions, CD-rom versions, and paper manual versions. There are three modes of instruction for this project.
In addition to the instructional component of this grant, we are creating virtual field trips of topics and places of interest to MPS teachers and students. Studies have demonstrated that virtual pre-field trips often amplify the benefits of the onsite field trip. These virtual field trip components include digital photos, video, and sound.
