The National Council on Economic Education (NCEE) is a nonprofit partnership of leaders in education, business, and labor devoted to helping youngsters learn to think, to choose and to function in a changing global economy. Founded in 1949, they are the premier source of teacher training and materials used to instill an understanding of economic principles for grades kindergarten through twelve.

The National Council on Economic Education publishes and distributes books, teacher strategies and resources for classroom use, as well as develops curricula for teaching economics. Learning, Earning and Investing introduces students to the world of investing, its benefits and risks, and the critical role it plays in fostering capital formation and job creation in our free market system. Learning, Earning and Investing is a comprehensive investor education program focusing on the benefits of and strategies for investing for the long term. Lessons cover basics such as the language of financial markets, reading the financial pages and financial institutuions in the U.S. economy. There are lessons on stocks, bonds and mutual funds. The 16 lessons in the middle school volume and the 23 lessons in the high school volume provide students with the active-learning experience which are an NCEE trademark. The first 16 lessons in the high school volume are the same lessons as in the middle school volume.

Learning, Earning and Investing has a companion Web site which offers sample lessons, interactive simulations, downloadable PowerPoint visuals, a glossary and assessments. In addition, there are free downloadable lessons, which are not included in the print publications, for 4th and 5th grade students. The Web sites serves as a portal for a wide range of investor education Web sites and materials.

Learning, Earning and Investing is the right publication to channel the excitement of stock market simulations into a comprehensive investor education curriculum.
