Mary McLean, Ph.D
Director
Mary McLean earned an M.A. at George Peabody College (now part of Vanderbilt University) and a Ph.D. at UW-Madison. Dr. McLean is director of the Early Childhood Research Center in the School of Education. She is co-author of "Assessment of Infants and Preschoolers with Special Needs" and "Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education: Recommended Practices."
Professor McLean is past president of the Division for Early Childhood of the Council for Exceptional Children, the national organization for Early Childhood Special Education. She writes about topics related to early childhood special education, such as parent involvement, assessment considerations, integrated environments, and language development. Professor McLean presents on assessment and intervention, inclusion and family-focused intervention. She has served as a consultant nationwide and as a consultant to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
