For years, students have been submitting portfolios or “binders” to demonstrate their development and proficiency in the professional standards. Using an electronic format will allow students to build and share their portfolios with greater ease. As faculty, we should be able to more easily integrate the e-portfolio into coursework and provide feedback on core artifacts and reflections prior to its final submission.

Here are some important steps to address the e-portfolio requirement with our students:

• Establishing a LiveText Account
• Becoming familiar with LiveText Basics
• Reviewing your program’s template and guidelines given to candidates about the portfolio
• Informing your students
• Reviewing the e-portfolio components
• Integrating the e-portfolio into coursework
• Assessing with the standards rubric
• Connecting to the PDP process
