Student Support Services


The primary goals are to provide opportunities for academic development and to assist students in achieving successful completion of the degree programs in Administrative Leadership. Support services include the following: UWM Virtual Library, University Information and Technology Services (UITS), Desire2Learn (D2L), The Writing Center, Panther Access to Web Services (PAWS), Financial Aid, and the Student Accessibility Center (SAC). For each of these services, a brief description is provided below.

UWM Virtual Library

The UWM Libraries provides support for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Distance Learning Students. All students pursuing an education through distance learning methods are entitled access to library resources and services equivalent to those provided for students in traditional campus settings. University Information and Technology Services (UITS)

UITS can provide answers to technology questions (computers, e-mail, the Internet, etc.). In addition, UITS provides technology services to assist students in their course work and research, as well as in the classroom.

All students are given ePanther IDs, which enable them to access e-mail (PantherLink), Desire2Learn (D2L), personal calendars, PantherFile, and use UWM resources on the Internet. In addition to providing 24/7 help desk support, UITS also provides training, printing, software discounts, computer discounts, and help with lost passwords. Desire2Learn (D2L) 

Desire2Learn (D2L) is the name of UW-System's course management software that enables instructors to use the Web for displaying course materials and for communicating with students online. It is the essential Web site for your courses in the online program. Go to D2L >>

The Writing Center

The Writing Center is open to all writers on campus, freshman through graduate students and even faculty, to meet one-on-one with a highly qualified and well-trained tutor to discuss any kind of writing project at any stage of the project. All majors, subjects and skill levels are welcome.The Writing Center offers both face-to-face sessions and online tutoring. More information >>

Panther Access to Web Services (PAWS)

PAWS provides students with the following information: application deadlines, registration information, tuition/fee deadlines & payment information, financial aid, grades, and graduation. Go to PAWS >>

Financial Aid

Student Accessibility Center (SAC)

The Student Accessibility Center strives to create an accessible university community for students with disabilities. SAC works with students, faculty and staff to promote an increased awareness of the abilities of all students and to ensure they are regarded on the basis of ability, not disability.
