Contacting an Advisor
There are four ways to contact your advisor.

Scheduled Appointment

You will utilize walk-in advising for most advising questions and concerns. However, an appointment should be scheduled if:

  • you are coming for your first appointment.
  • you need to speak to an advisor about changing your major to teacher education.
  • you are inquiring about the post baccalaureate program. You should attend an informational session about the program before scheduling an appointment with an advisor.
  • you are transferring from another institution to one of the teacher certification programs in Curriculum and Instruction.

You may schedule an appointment by calling (414) 229-4904 . All appointments are scheduled for an hour.

Walk-In Appointment

Walk-in appointments are for quick questions requiring no more than 15 minutes of your advisor's time. If you see your advisor on a regular basis, walk-in advising is perfect when you need help choosing your courses for the next semester, reviewing your progress, or getting a form signed.

E-mail

Send an e-mail to your advisor at currinsadvising@uwm.edu if you have a quick question that can be answered in less than five minutes and does not require us to review your student file. You will be asked to come in for a walk-in or scheduled appointment if your student file must be reviewed in order to answer your question.

Phone

Contact the advising office by calling (414) 229-4904 if you have a general question that can be answered without pulling your student file.
