Contacting an Advisor
There are four ways to contact your advisor.

Scheduled Appointment

Scheduled appointments are for those times when you need answers to lengthy questions requiring more than 15 minutes. All appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes unless you request a longer appointment. You should request more time if:

  • you are coming for your first appointment
  • you need to speak to an advisor about changing your major to education
  • you are inquiring about the post baccalaureate program
  • you are transferring from another institution to one of the teacher certification programs in Curriculum and Instruction
Walk-In Appointment

Walk-in appointments are for quick questions requiring no more than 15 minutes of your advisor's time.

E-mail

Send an e-mail if you have a quick question that can be answered in less than five minutes. Advisors get a large volume of e-mails. Some advisors prefer e-mail over phone contact. Discuss with your advisor the best method for reaching him or her if you have a quick question.

Phone

Contact your advisor by phone if you have a quick question that can be answered in less than five minutes. Your advisor will provide his or her direct phone number at your first face-to-face appointment. Some advisor(s) prefer e-mail contact over phone contact. Discuss with your advisor the best method for reaching him or her if you have a quick question.
