Academic Advising Staff
The advising team in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction includes academic advisors and administrative and support staff.


Rachelle AliotoAssociate Chairperson
Rachelle has been with UWM since July 2000. As Associate Chairperson, she has oversight responsibility for the advising unit as well as administrative responsibility for the operation of the department. Prior to coming to UWM, she held a number of leadership positions in non-profit agencies. She has her Master's degree in social work and over 25 years of management experience.

Lisa Engel

Administrative Support Staff
Lisa has been working on campus for over five years. She began working at UWM as a limited term employee in the Department of Urban Studies. She worked as a classified employee in the Parking and Transit Office, Department of Biological Sciences, Student Activities Office, and is currently in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.  She completes her Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Community Counseling in Fall 2011. Lisa is a veteran of the U.S. Army  and has lived in Panama and South Korea.  

Andrea AzarianSenior Academic Advisor
Andrea has been with UWM since July 2007. She is a certified English teacher (grades 5 - 8). Previously she taught English at Bruce Guadalupe and Edison Middle Schools. She has also taught in the Racine Unified School District. She has her Master's Degree in Educational Professional Development.

Laura Carter

Associate Academic Advisor
Laura joined UWM in November 2011. She has her Master's degree in Education in Community Counseling and has counseling experience with high school and college students, veterans, and survivors of domestic violence. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology.

Stephanie CasperAssociate Academic Advisor
Stephanie has been working at UWM in various capacities since September 2007. Stephanie previously worked in the Center for Economic Education, the Office of Academic Services (in the School of Education) and in the Graduate School. She has her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and is completing her Master's degree in Administrative Leadership, Higher Education Administration.

Gloria SaundersAcademic Advisor
Gloria joined UWM in October 2010. She previously worked at Bryant and Stratton College as a academic advisor. She holds a Master's degree in Administrative Leadership from UWM.
