English as a Second Language

The following are prerequisites for approval to student teach:

• Completion of ALL requirements in the ESL major and professional sequence
• Passing PRAXIS II scores posted on your transcript
• Removal of all F or I grades that counts toward graduation or certification
• TB Test
• Criminal background check

Note:  An exception to allow a student to take another course concurrently with student teaching requires approval of the student's faculty advisor

World Languages

The following are prerequisites for approval to student teacher:

• Completion of ALL requirements in the language major and professional sequence
• Completion of the language proficiency requirement of Intermediate High on the ACTFL scale or equivalent as confirmed by the language department and/or language education faculty
• Completion of an approved immersion experience in a country in which the world language is spoken.
• Passing PRAXIS II scores posted on your transcript
• Removal of all F or I grades that counts toward graduation or certification
• TB Test
• Criminal background check

Note:  An exception to allow a student to take a course concurrently with student teaching requires approval of the student's faculty advisor.
