The Early Adolescence through Adolescence (EA-A) Program in Mathematics is available for students who plan to teach mathematics to children from age 10 to age 21, in 6th through 12th grade. Mathematics Program students gain real world experience in the classroom through student teaching at area schools. Students who satisfactorily complete the program requirements also meet the Wisconsin teacher certification requirements for teaching mathematics subject areas in those grades.
Undergraduate Degree Offered Bachelor's degree leading to licensure.
Post-Baccalaureate CertificationStudents who already have a bachelor's degree and are interested in becoming licensed teachers in the state of Wisconsin may earn post-baccalaureate teacher certification in mathematics.
Additional LicensureStudents at this level of certification may add the following licenses while pursuing a mathematics licensure as their initial certification. Students with certification in mathematics may also return to UWM to add these licenses at a later date.
