Undergraduate Application
Admission Criteria for the Undergraduate Mathematics Education Program
GPA RequirementAt the time of application, applicants must have 58 credits with a minimum 2.5 GPA; and a minimum of 2.75 GPA in mathematics courses. The GPA will be calculated on all transfer and UW-Milwaukee course credits.
English Composition RequirementApplicants must achieve a placement level of 4 or higher on the English Proficiency Test, or complete English 102 or an equivalent with a grade of C or better.
Mathematics Skills RequirementApplicants must achieve a placement level of 30 or higher on the Math Placement Test or complete Math 105, or 106, or 175, or an equivalent, with a grade of C or better.
Additional Mathematics Course RequirementApplicants must complete the following coursework at the time of admission application. Other faculty approved course will be considered. The applicant must complete these courses and all faculty approved math courses 300 level or above with a 2.75 GPA.
CURRINS 328 RequirementApplicants are required to complete CURRINS 328: Introduction to Teaching: Colloquium and Fieldwork, or an equivalent transfer course, with a grade of C or better.
Praxis I RequirementApplicants must pass all three sections of the Praxis I with minimum scores of 175 on the Reading portion, 174 on the Writing portion, and 173 on the Math portion.

- MATH 234 or an equivalent one semester course in linear algebra and differential equations AND
- MATH 231, MATH 232, MATH 233 or and equivalent three semester sequence of calculus and analytical geometry.
