M.S. Application Process


Below you will find the application process for the M.S. specialization in Research & Evaluation. Please note that certain materials must be received by the Graduate School, while others are sent directly to the Department of Educational Psychology.


The application process consists of two parts: A) Applying to the UWM Graduate School and B) Applying to the Department of Educational Psychology.

A. To the UWM Graduate School:

1) Complete the Graduate School Application Form, which may be obtained from the Graduate School online at http://www.uwm.edu/Dept/Grad_Sch/Prospective/. The completed application form and fee must be submitted to the Graduate School Office-Mitchell Hall, Room 261, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 53201.

2) Two copies of official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate credits the applicant has accumulated to date at other institutions of higher learning must be submitted to the Graduate School. It is the applicant's responsibility to arrange for this to be done.

Admission applications cannot be processed until all official transcripts have been received by the Graduate School.

3) The Graduate School application also requires a Statement of Reasons for Graduate Study. Applicants are required to articulate their research interests and goals and their intent to specialize in Research & Evaluation.

B. To the Department of Educational Psychology (Research & Evaluation Committee):
1) Have letters of recommendation sent to the Department of Educational Psychology. Recommendations must be forwarded directly by the writers to the Educational Psychology. Please submit letters of recommendation from a minimum of three appropriate persons that can comment meaningfully and knowledgeably on the likelihood that you can successfully complete an advanced scholarly program of study for the M.S. degree.

2) Finally, send a copy of your Statement of Reasons for Graduate Study to the Department of Educational Psychology. If you have not already done so (in your Statement to the Graduate School) please articulate your research interests and goals, your intent to specialize in Research & Evaluation and list any faculty members that you are interested in working with.
