Admission Process for Programs
If you have a bachelor's degree and are interested in applying to a special education teacher certification program download the post-baccalaureate application packet for program information and the admissions process. The department application is listed on pages 8-9 of the application packet and includes a complete checklist of the application requirements.
If you are applying to the post-baccalaureate Interpreter Training Program or American Sign Language Teacher Education (World Languages) program note that you must complete the required admission course work. To complete that course work, students will need to apply to the university as a visiting student or as a second degree, ASL Studies student at the undergraduate level. If you do NOT need financial aid apply as a visiting student. If you do need financial aid you will need to take at least 2 courses (6 credits) and should apply as a second degree undergraduate student with a School of Education focus in ASL Studies.

If you are planning to live in the Sandburg Residence Hall then picture yourself developing a network of peers who communicate with a common language; American Sign Language (ASL) and gain understanding and respect for ASL, Deaf history, and Deaf culture. If you are interested or already majoring in ASL Studies, ASL Teacher Education, or the Interpreter Training Program then you could live within the ASL-LLC!
