University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee

ACT 31 Seminar

In an effort to help you comply with the Act 31 legislation required by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, two ACT 31 seminars will be offered this Spring 2010 at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee:

Friday, April 2nd (At capacity & closed to enrollment)

and

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 (Open to enrollment)

Lubar Hall, Room S151

9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

This requirement only applies to those individuals seeking initial licensure/certification. Educational Studies as well as ITP students are exempt from this requirement. If you have satisfactorily completed Ethnic Studies 203, History 263, Anthropology 213, English 276 or completed the ACT 31 Seminar, disregard this page. All other students (Education Undergraduates, including art and dance majors) will be required to satisfy the ACT 31 criteria by completing courses identified within their programs. All music majors satisfy ACT 31 through their regular core courses. Please understand that this seminar does not substitute for your 3-credit non-western history requirement. It only satisfies ACT 31 and is posted on your record in your UWM advisor's office. Please contact your advisor if you have any questions.

Priority will be given to UWM students who are graduating this current semester. Please indicate your status on your registration form so that we are aware of your urgency. This seminar carries no credit, but meets the Wisconsin certification requirement. Each seminar participant will receive a certificate at the end of the seminar. There will be a nominal charge of $65 per student to cover the cost of instruction, materials, and lunch.

Enrollment is limited. Confirmed registration is required before attending.
