Professional Development Plan (PDP) Writing Workshop

PDP Writing Workshop

This 1.5 hour long workshop is intended for initial educators (teachers, administrators, and pupil services) seeking expertise to assist in writing their PDP’s.

All participants will:
• Learn to write a compelling goal that leads to a great PDP
• Have access to online tools to write their PDP (bring a laptop)

Location: University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, UWM Union Room TBA

About the Presenter: 

Kathy Larson, Professional Development Consultant: Emphasis PI 34 and Professional Growth

Kathy Larson has concentrated her efforts on researching and developing learning opportunities that increase performances of organizations and the people who work within them. Her group facilitation skills have been sought by a wide variety of public and private organizations seeking to create healthy climates that merge the gifts, talents, and abilities of all people in the system.

Kathy has devoted the past seven years researching and developing products that assist educators in the pursuit of personal and professional goals. She is the state's lead facilitator for PDP Team Training and considered an expert on the implementation of PI 34. She contributed to the authorship of two DPI publications: The Professional Development Plan Educator Toolkit and The Professional Development Plan Team Toolkit. She is currently conducting workshops on identifying educator dispositions and how to use that knowledge to create healthy professional climates. She has done numerous national and state presentations, most recently at the National Symposium for Dispositions. She is co-author of "The Mentoring Year: A Step by Step Program for Professional Development," (Corwin Press, 2003) and Reflection as a Disposition (in press).
