Ann Hains teaches in the early childhood special education teacher preparation program. Her research interests are in the areas of early childhood transitions for children and families, and personnel development. Hains participated in a number of demonstration, outreach and in-service projects and has been funded for early childhood/early intervention personnel preparation grants.
Hains is currently a research site coordinator for the National Early Childhood Transition Research and Training Center at the University of Kentucky. She is co-author of "Bridging Early Services for Children with Special Needs and Their Families: A Practical Guide for Transition." She is past president of the International Division for Early Childhood of the Council for Exceptional Children.
Hains writes about personnel preparation in early intervention, collaborative practices, instructional technology, and families. She is a member of the editorial board for Topics in Early Childhood Special Education and the Journal of Early Intervention. She received M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Kansas.
