Faith Crampton's research interests include policy trends in state school finance legislation and school infrastructure funding. She recently published "Saving America's School Infrastructure" with David C. Thompson of Kansas State University, with a forward by Senator Edward M. Kennedy. Crampton is past president of the Fiscal Issues, Policy, and Education Finance special interest group of the American Educational Research Association and a past member of the board of directors of the American Education Finance Association. She is executive editor of the journal, Educational Considerations, and serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Education Finance.
Prior to joining the faculty at UWM, Crampton served as a senior researcher in education finance at the National Education Association in Washington, D.C., and the National Conference of State Legislatures in Denver. In addition, she has held graduate faculty appointments in education finance and the economics of education at the University of Rochester, N.Y., and at the University of Oregon.
Crampton holds an M.S. Ed. in educational administration from Western Illinois University and a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy from The Ohio State University.
