Leah Arndt

Leah Arndt teaches courses in counseling appraisal and introduction to counseling. Her research interests include populations who have experienced traumatic events or serious mental illness (i.e., forensic populations, emergency services and military personnel), American Indian psychology and intergenerational historical trauma, and cross-cultural issues in service delivery and research utilizing qualitative methods of inquiry.

Arndt also serves as clinical and mental health consultant to the Milwaukee Police Department's Police Officer Support Team, curriculum consultant on multicultural issues in mental health for the development of the Crisis Intervention Team training curriculum (Milwaukee Area National Alliance on Mental Illness), and offers critical incident debriefings for crisis response and emergency services.

She received her M.S. in educational psychology-community counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Wisconsin- Madison.
