Mary McLean Professor

Mary McLean is Kellner Professor of Early childhood Education and director of the Early Childhood Research Center at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is co-author of "Assessment of Infants and Preschoolers with Special Needs" (second and third editions), "Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education: Recommended Practices," and "DEC Recommended Practices for Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education."
McLean is past president of the Division for Early Childhood of the Council for Exceptional Children. Her areas of research and writing include assessment of young children with disabilities, and effective interdisciplinary personnel preparation. McLean presents on assessment and intervention strategies and has served as a consultant nationwide in the area of outcomes-based assessment and accountability in Early Childhood Special Education. McLean earned an M.A. degree at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University and her Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
