Thandeka Chapman Associate Professor
Department of Curriculum and Instruction
Thandeka Chapman teaches several research methods courses for the C&I master's and Ph.D. programs. Her research interests primarily focus on the implementation and documentation of multicultural education practices, the effects of school desegregation policy on urban students and teachers, and tracking student success factors in urban high schools. Chapman's other scholarly interests include ethical issues concerning the roles of the researcher in field research and the applications of critical race theory in education. Chapman has recently co-edited a six volume set of books on the History of Multicultural Education in the U.S. Chapman earned a master's degree from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in Literacy/English Education, Curriculum and Instruction, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
