SOE Partnerships and Projects

		Center for Urban Initiatives (CUIR) CUIR promotes strategic partnerships, across disciplines and sectors, integrating a dynamic network of expertise to address urban issues.
		Holmes Partnership The Holmes Partnership is a consortium of universities, public school districts, teachers associations and local as well as national organizations.
		Institute for Intercultural Research (IIR) The Institute for Intercultural Research at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) addresses the needs and responds to the concerns of communities of color through research, public service and information resource sharing.
		Milwaukee Partnership Academy The Milwaukee Partnership Academy: An Urban P-16 Council for Quality Teaching and Learning is designed to develop a comprehensive teacher education prototype for preparing K-12 teachers for high needs schools through a strong and unique partnership.
		Professional Development Partnerships Professional Development Partnerships provide professional development opportunities for educators and are a result of the collaborative efforts between the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Education and Milwaukee Public Schools.
		Research Research resources are available through the Institute for Intercultural Research as well as through the Consulting Office for Research and Evaluation. Ongoing research projects are being conducted through the Office of Academic Services focusing on the SPARK Program and the effect of tutoring on PRAXIS I scores.
		Teachers for a New Era (TNE) The Teachers for A New Era project, funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York, is designed to increase the quality of teaching in K-12 classrooms by improving the quality of teacher education programs and enhancing the position of teacher education at each participating TNE institution.
		Teacher Preparation Partnerships Teacher Preparation programs and initiatives are collaborative efforts between the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Education and Milwaukee Public Schools.
		Urban American Indian Teacher Training Program (UAITTP) The mission of the Urban American Indian Teacher Training Program is to provide a well-designed framework and approach for training and collaboration, mentorship, and support so that American Indians become teachers that will contribute through teaching and professional involvement to the provision of effective and meaningful education for native students.
