Education is the Best Investment Initiative
The UWM School of Education created the Education is the Best Investment initiative to strengthen the link between educator preparation and the economic health of the community.

The objectives of Education is the Best Investment are to:

• Engage the business sector in our metro area to invest in education
  
  
• Recognize great educators and teaching
  
  
• Raise awareness regarding the need for increased financial support for scholarships
• 
  Along with special events programming and dialogs with area businesses, non-profit organizations and community agencies, another important element of the initiative is a special section inserted into the The Business Journal, which reaches over 65,000 people.
• 
  This year's special special section, Stories of Success: Education's Impact on Our Economy celebrated educators and the impact they have had on the community. Stories focused on educators who have helped others succeed. The 2006 Educator Honor Roll is also an important part of the special section.

• This year's special section was inserted into the Sept. 15, 2006 issue of The Business Journal. Along with the 2006 Educator Honor Roll, the section features prominent area business leaders recognizing an educator who played a role in their success.
