Teacher Certification and Licensing

The Office of Teacher Certification and Licensing is the central licensing unit for thirty-four UWM programs leading to teacher, administrator, and pupil services certifications.

This office provides the following services:

• Reviews and endorses initial educator license applications for certification

• Assists teachers holding provisional licenses who need to meet Wisconsin licensing requirements

• Issues Department of Public Instruction (DPI) Verification of Program Completion certificates for candidates completing a certification program

• Reviews and endorses out-of-state license applications
