SOE Black and Gold Committee:
Council on Student Success
Welcome! We are pleased that you have visited the homepage of the UWM School of Education Black and Gold Committee: The Council on Student Success, an exciting and dynamic committee formed in conjunction with the UWM Black and Gold Commission.
The
UWM Black and Gold Commission began its work in October 2001. Former Chancellor Nancy Zimpher charged the commission with the task of ensuring that the quality of the UWM student experience continues to improve, as UWM grows in stature as a premier urban research university. The Commission began by gathering information, reviewing data and hearing testimony regarding student satisfaction and success at UWM.
To continue the work of the Commission, Alfonzo Thurman, Dean of the UWM School of Education, established the School of Education Black and Gold Committee: The Council on Student Success. The Committee is comprised of students, faculty and staff from the School of Education with a
mission to strive to meet the goals for student success as outlined by the Black and Gold Commission.
