Join Student WEA
A yearly Student WEA membership is only $30 a year, with $4 going to the UWM Student WEA chapter and $26 to the National Education Association (NEA) and the Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC). This chapter fee includes materials and monthly meetings with speakers discussing educational issues and professional development.

Membership Benefits
A one year membership in Student WEA gives you:- Legal services - $1,000,000 liability insurance program provided by the National Education Association (NEA). This protects you if something were to happen while you are in a classroom (clinical or student teaching). If anything were to happen where a lawyer would be needed, WEAC provides you with one for free.
- First year teacher dues rebate - For every year you are a member of Student WEA, you will recieve a $20 rebate from the NEA on your membership dues once you become a tacher member (limit four years).
- Leadership training - A major part of Student WEA, you will have the opportunity to attend state leadership training sessions several times a year.
- Professional development - Free admission to the annual WEAC Teachers Convention held in October, three regional conferences each year, plus the Annual Fall Conference that brings StWEA members together from across Wisconsin.
- Networking - Great opportunitys to work with people who are in the field of education through project, conferences and programs that are in conjunction with SWEA and the teacher's association.
- *New* Barnes and Noble Discount - Student WEA members can now benefit from a 10% discount on all textbooks and free shipping on orders over $25 by ordering from Barnes and Noble online.
