Where do UW-Milwaukee faculty and staff purchase software for campus departmental use/home use?

UWM departments, faculty, and staff can purchase software from the SoftwareShop online catalog.  Also, the Wisconsin Integrated Software Catalog (WISC) located in Madison, offers Microsoft, Adobe, and other software to UW-Milwaukee students and staff at a deeply discounted rates.

Students can purchase the newest version of the SAS software from the SoftwareShop online catalog. 

The Wisconsin Integrated Software Catalog (WISC) located in Madison, offers Microsoft, Adobe, and other software to UW-Milwaukee students and staff at a deeply discounted rates.

The SoftwareShop have software from Microsoft, Adobe and many other manufacture for Campus use and Home use.  Please browse the SoftwareShop to see all the software we offer.

How much do the products cost?

A complete listing of the software products and a complete listing of prices can be found in the "Software Home Use" and “Software Campus Use” sections to the left of your screen once you log in to the store. The prices will be posted with each product labeled as “Our Price”

What should I do if the software I need to order is not available?

Use the Campus/Lab Software Request Form to submit a request for software that is not found on the online catalog.

The manufacturer has released a new version. When will it be available to purchase?

It takes 30-90 days for the UWM SoftwareShop to receive the new software and to prepare installation files for easy network installation and asset management. The software should be available for purchase within 30-90 days of the release date.

Can I get assistance with installing my home use software?

How do I know if the products will work on my computer?

You can find detailed information on each product by clicking the product name in the SoftwareShop and following the link to the manufacturer’s website. How many installs are allowed?

One installation per order placed is allowed.
Campus use software must be installed on university-owned computers.
Home use software must be installed on personally-owned computers that will be used for university purposes.

What happens after I place my campus order?

Your IT support staff will be notified and they will contact you for the installation.

If you are in a unit without IT support, you will have the option to choose which delivery options would best fit your need.

What happens after I place my home order?

An email notification will be sent to your UWM email address with software delivery information. The software will be sent out as either a download link in email or an email giving you more directions on what to do base on the delivery options.

How will my software be distributed?

After clicking the product name, the product description is displayed. Here you will find a description of how the software will be distributed to you.

Where do I go to pick up my software?

Software will be distributed according to thedelivery options that was chosen at the time of purchase.

What delivery options can I choose from?

There are 3 delivery options to choose from when ordering on our website.       

      1) IT install is only for software that will be installed on campus computers with IT support in their department.

      2) Campus Mail (5-7 business days):  After you complete the Microsoft Work-At-Home Form, we will put your media into Campus Mail. Media will be deliver to the office that you provide in the Customer Note box.

      3) Rush pickup (fee of $10.00):  You can pick up your media from the Software Asset Management office in Northwest Quadrant room 2428 (Building B on the second floor). Software media can only be pick up during the SAM office hours (10:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday). Please call Software at x5623 for confirmation of pick up.

What do I need to bring when I pick up my software?

You will need to bring the following items:
• Campus ID
• Order Number
• Customer Name

Can I have my media shipped to my home?

Yes, we do ship it to your home. Please select off campus mail for the delivery option and provide address in customer note box.

My download link has expired and I haven’t installed my software, what should I do?

Please contact UWM SoftwareShop staff at 414-229-5623 or software@uwm.edu.  Please have either the order# or ticket# ready to reference the order. Once the order been verify, a new download link can then be sent to you via email.

Where is the serial number to activate the software that was downloaded?

It is inside the zip file usually in the form of a text or Word document

Product Specification


Where are all the Adobe products?

SoftwareShop will no longer resell individual Adobe licenses to the UWM community due to price increases, changes in the Adobe licensing agreement, and the company's move toward Software as a Subscription (SaaS) business model.  However, SoftwareShop staff will continue to work with schools, colleges, and departments to manage large volume purchases and concurrent licenses for labs and offices. Please contact Software at software@uwm.edu for 10 or more computers on campus in your area.

Does my SAS software give me access to the eLearning online training courses?


Yes, but you would need to contact Software at Software@uwm.edu for the access code. Please include your name and order number.

Can I reinstall my Microsoft Work-At-Home software using the same Serial Number?

Microsoft only allows the Work at Home media to be used up to 2 installations.

Is Microsoft Work-At-Home software available as a download link instead?

Microsoft Work-At-Home software is available from the UWM SoftwareShop as media that comes from Microsoft. If you have a computer that has no CD/DVD drive, here is how you can get the software installed:
You need a computer that does have a CD/DVD drive. From here you can copy the files from the disk onto an external storage device. Use the external storage device to install software on your computer without the CD/DVD drive.
If you have no way to do that, you can contact UWM TechRepair for installation assistance.
