Bachelor's Degree Admission (IST)
To begin your program of study, you must first meet the standard University admission requirements and then you must apply to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee via the Online Application. Current UWM students can transfer into the IST program by meeting with an advisor and declaring IST as your major or minor.

Transfer StudentsStudents who have at least 12 college credits from another institution
The diverse student population of the IST program includes traditional, transfer, and adult/returning students who complete their degree onsite, online, or as a blend of both.
The Transfer Process
All application materials must be submitted and processed through the Department of Enrollment Services (DES). To apply to UWM, visit: apply.wisconsin.edu - indicate Information Science & Technology as the desired program.
Upon admission to UWM, DES staff complete the transcript evaluation. At this point in the transfer process, it is important to contact the School of Information Studies (SOIS) front office staff at 414-229-4707 or 888-349-3432 to schedule an appointment with an IST advisor.
Transferable credits will be applied in order of institution attended. The maximum number of transfer credits from an accredited two-year institution is 72; therefore if you’ve attended multiple institutions, not all credits from an Associate degree may apply to transfer.
UW-System & Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS)The Transfer Information System (TIS) is a resource for University of Wisconsin (UW) and Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) students to view how credits will transfer to any UW or WTCS campus. For current transferable course information, visit the TIS website Course Wizard at www.uwsa.edu/tis.
For more information on transferring, call 414-229-4707 or 888-349-3432 to speak with an advisor. For more information on transferring to UWM, please visit: http://www4.uwm.edu/future_students/transfer/
