The 2nd Milwaukee Conference on the Ethics of Information Organization: By School of Information Studies | Posted on March 12, 2012 at 9:56 AM; Back in 2009, a group of practicing professionals, students, and faculty gathered together to talk ethics. This gathering was the 1st Milwaukee Conference on the Ethics of Information Organization. Many of the participants came from the Midwest, but there were also some from Massachusetts, New Mexico, Texas, Toronto, and even Brazil. The topics discussed were as diverse as the participants. Papers ranged from theoretical and philosophical perspectives on MARC records, to the role of professionals in information organization, to the potential problems of giving users what they want, to the application of information organization in national security.
