Research Interests
Rakesh Babu is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His career goal is to empower the blind in the information society. His dissertation developed an accurate and in-depth understanding of accessibility and usability problems in interacting with the Web for academic objectives. Currently, he is working on externally-funded research that tries to develop design principles on Web accessibility and usability, as well as user training on effective non-visual Web interaction. He believes this will help the blind maximize their education outcomes, independent living and career prospects.
