Jessica comes from an academic library background with experience in reference, instruction, digital collections, access services and management. She has research interests in common reading initiatives; circulating e-readers in the library; and digital communication tools in academic advising.
Jessica values the importance of networking and participation in professional organizations in the fields of Library Information Science, Academic Advising, and Online Higher Education. She is very active in the Wisconsin Library Association (WLA), and is currently serving as a member of the WLA Board of Directors, Wisconsin Association of Academic Librarians Board of Directors, Past-Chair of the WLA Support Staff and Circulation Services Section, and has served on several other WLA planning committees and task forces. Recently, she co-founded and now serves as Convener of a new Special Interest Group for Student Services in the Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE).
