Visit: The Student Success Center - Located in Bolton 120, the Student Success Center is the one stop where you can find all the information about valuable resources on campus. The Student Success Center is dedicated to creating opportunities for all UW-Milwaukee first-year, transfer and returning adult students and families to successfully transition into an inclusive and vibrant community. The SSC places a high value on connections with other students, faculty and staff to enhance each student's personal and academic success. The SSC will also lead efforts to create a campus climate in which students persist to the second year and on to graduation. Visit the Event Calendar link to find out more about our programs offered during the academic school year.

Talk: Mentoring - The Student Success Center is also home to the Orientation Leaders, Peer Mentors and Lawton Scholar Student Success Advocates, who during the academic year, will meet one-on-one and maintain communication with their students, and assist in the development of targeted first-year and transfer/adult student programming. Enroll: Learning Communities – It is the goal of the Learning Communities (LC) to develop a learning environment that combines effective instructional methods, co-curricular learning and events and High Impact Practices to lead to academic success and stronger connections to campus for first semester students. More information about joining an LC will be available at New Student Orientation.

Explore: Involvement – Is an important aspect of the UWM experience. There are a number of ways to get involved on campus. A first year student can get involved by attending campus programs, athletic events, participating in club sports, or by joining one of our over 300 campus clubs and organizations. Student employment is also a great way to get involved on campus. Click on involvement or check out our Student Success Resources to learn more about getting involved.
