Professional Staff Biographies
Ericca Rolland
Director
Ericca attended college at Illinois State University and received a B.S. in Speech Communication and a M.S. Ed in College Student Personnel Administration. Ericca started at UW-Milwaukee in March of 2008 as the first Director of the First Year Center. Prior to UWM, She worked for 6 years at Drake University as the Director of Residence Life. As Director of the First Year Center, her role is to oversee the development of programs and services relating to student success, especially for new students. She serves as a key member of the Access to Success leadership team and Chair of the Graduation and Retention Working Group.

Keri L. Duce
Student Success Program Coordinator
Keri attend college at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, and received her M.S. in Cultural Foundations of Education from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She has been at UWM since 2005 serving as the Staffing and Training Graduate Assistant for University Housing and Director of the Neighborhood Housing Office before becoming Student Success Program Coordinator in 2010.

Colin Daly
Assistant Director of First Year Student Success
Colin attended college at North Central College in Naperville, IL and received a B.A. in Organizational Communications and Spanish. Colin also attended Grand Valley State University where he received a M.Ed in College Student Affairs Leadership. Prior to UWM, he worked for 4 years at the University of Missouri as a Residence Hall Coordinator. As Assistant Director of First Year Student Success, his role is to ensure all first-year students have a successful transition to UWM. Colin supervises the Orientation Leaders, First Year Mentors and oversees the Student Success Center programs.

Kay Eilers
Assistant Director for Transfer and Adult Student Success
Kay is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee where she earned a Master of Science in Administrative Leadership in Higher Education. Previously she attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln earning a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. Prior to joining the UWM team, Kay worked at Herzing University for 5 years; most recently in the role of System Director of Career Development. In her role at UWM as the Assistant Director of Transfer and Adult Student Success, her role is to support the needs of transfer and adult students at UWM through specific transfer and adult student orientations and supervising the Student Success Advocates program.

Jessica Stein
Orientation Coordinator
Jessica attended the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and received a B.S. in Psychology and American Sign Language Studies. Jessica also attended Florida State University where she received a M.S. in Higher Education - Student Affairs. After receiving her Master's degree, she returned to UWM where she worked in the Department of Admissions and Recruitment as an Admission Representative. As the Orientation Coordinator of the Student Success Center, her role is to coordinate the preparations, outreach, and communication for orientation programs and oversee the daily Student Success Center operations.

Elizabeth Boyna
Graduate Assistant of First Year Student Success
Elizabeth is originally from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, and received a B.A. in English from Loyola-University of Chicago. She is currently in her second year of the Administrative Leadership-Higher Education Administration graduate program here at UWM, and will graduate with her master's in the Spring of 2013. Elizabeth currently works as a Graduate Assistant at the Student Success Center, helping the assistant director with administrative and supervisory tasks. She also currently works as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Admissions & Recruitment, spearheading calling campaigns for prospective and current UWM students. She is very excited to now be a part of the SSC team!

Amy Ballweg
Amy attended the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point and received her B.A. in Psychology and is currently attending UWM for her M.S. in Educational Psychology, with a dual concentration in School and Community Counseling. Amy currently works as the MAP-Works Graduate Assistant where she is helping oversee the MAP-Works program and meeting with students with the goal to help make their first year at UWM a positive experience.

Amanda Balistreri
Learning Community Graduate Assistant
Amanda graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a B.A. in Anthropology and Spanish with a certificate in Cultures and Communities. She is currently working on an M.S. in Anthropology with a certificate in Museum Studies. As the Learning Community Graduate Assistant, Amanda works with Resident Assistants, Mentors, and Faculty/Staff to ensure students feel a part of the campus community. She is part of a team committed to creating initiatives on campus to enhance the learning and development of first-year students.
