In a comeback victory, Carroll College beat UWM 26-12.  The Panthers went into half-time up 6-0, and led 12-0 in the third before giving up two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.  With less than a minute left Carroll went ahead 14-12. The Pioneers would score two more times before the game was over, taking back an interception and lateral recovery for scores.

In a stunning turn of events, Carthage College beat UWM 36-22 after trailing 22-0 at half. The out manned and out sized Panthers came out strong and dominated early but the combination of miscues, turnovers, injuries, and just plain running out of steam led to a tough loss.  Carthage took the lead in the fourth quarter and added two touchdowns late to secure the game and hand the Panthers a defeat in their season opener.
