Student Health Insurance

Although most students can remain as a dependant on their parent's health insurance, sometimes the coverage is too limited or the co-payments are too high. For a possible alternative, the Student Association is proud to offer health insurance plans for UWM students through Student Assurance Services, Inc. These plans offer a low, flat-rate premium and very low co-payments! These plans are an excellent safety net against sudden illness or accidental injury, but are not meant to cover everyday medical expenses. You can also visit their website and purchase coverage online at: http://www.sas-mn.com just follow the links to "look-up your school" and fill out the enrollment forms online.

*The Student Association has, in consultation with UWM staff, reviewed several optional plans prior to selecting the present plan. However, because neither the Student Association nor the UWM staff are professional insurance experts, students should not rely upon this review in deciding whether to participate. If any student has any questions about the effects of the specific terms of the plan, the student should contact the insurance provider or consult his or her own insurance advisor.
